My itineraries are flexible and incorporate the best of what I specialise in, in the Western Cape. Prices may vary accordingly. The following tours are my speciality and will give an indication of how beautiful and versatile this amazing part of SA is.
1. OVERBERG, home to the famous Cape Whale Coast and Hermanus
Experience the breathtaking country and coastal sceneries of this area. From azure blue seas to rolling wheat and canola fields, fynbos covered mountains, orchards, vineyards, penguins, whales from July to November, various birds, wild life, farm stalls, quaint towns, brandy, wine, beer, cheese, food, antique shops, shopping, art, ship wrecks, museums, fisherman’s cottage s and lots of culture and history. Included are: The Most Southern Tip of Africa, Cape Agalhus, Stanford, Bredasdorp, Napier, Arniston with its huge cave in the ocean, Elim, Greyton, Genadendal, Elgin, Grabouw, Kleinmond and Bettys Bay.
2. CAPE TOWN and The Peninsula
Enjoy a wonderful day in the mother city – Cape Town and the Peninsula. The oldest city in South Africa! Enjoy the most beautiful scenic coastal roads on the way to Cape Point all along the Peninsula. See Camps Bay and Hout Bay along the way. Take the Cable Car to go to the top of the famous Table Mountain, visit the V&A Waterfront, go to Robben Island where our beloved Mandela spent so many years in jail, shop in the craft markets and enjoy the different architectural buildings, the oldest wine farm in SA, quaint harbour villages, fish & chips, baboons, penguins, an ostrich farm and the Cape Malay experience in the Bo-Kaap. Too many options! This is an appetizer, better to stay at least 3 days in this buzzing city to enjoy it all
3. STELLENBOSCH
Taste some of the best wines in SA, over 140 wine farms and the oldest and biggest wine route in SA! This beautiful second oldest town in SA hosts a University, Dorpstreet with the longest row of old buildings that survived of any major town in Southern Africa, The height of Cape Dutch Architecture, is surrounded by beautiful mountains, is known as the village of oaks, has a birds of prey and cheetah rehabilitation centre just outside town and you can enjoy excellent shopping as well.
4. FRANSCHHOEK
From Hermanus or surrounds to Franschhoek includes one of the most spectacular drives in the Overstrand! Enjoy the best farm scenery with mountains planted with wheat and canola, roaming with sheep and our national bird, the Blue Crane, fruit orchards, huge valleys and one of the most breathtaking passes in the country, the Franschhoek Pass. Once over this, Franschhoek Valley greets you from above where once, more than 300 years ago, elephants still roam when the French Huguenots were given farms to plant and produce wines, which still to today include some of the best! It is the Food and Wine capital of SA! Quaint little shops invite for good shopping, art, wineries and restaurants, cultural and historical. A must!
5. ON THE WAY TO KNYSNA
This Tour is designed for tourists that need a transfer to anywhere on the Garden route up to Knysna a s far as Plettenburg Bay. It includes again a big part of the Overberg and towns like Barrydale, Montagu(on route the famous R62) Swellendam(the first town established in the country side). It can incorporate Cape A’Gulhas, the most Southern Point of Africa as well. The Garden Route is by far one of the most beautiful places in SA! The versatility is amazing, from fynbos, semi desert of the Klein Karoo, majestic mountains, ocean views, to rivers and quaint villages along the way. The tour can extend to 2 days or more.
